Spending Summer in KC

At times, summer can get rather boring. You get tired of sitting at home and not finding anything to do or simply wish there was something more exciting going on. Well, here is a list of things of you can do around the Kansas City area to make sure you don’t waste your summer away.

  1. Worlds of Fun/Oceans of fun- Take on rides such as the SteelHawk: a 301 foot high, two person swing set that rotates eight times in a minute while you lay tilted at a 45 degree angle for the perfect bird’s eye view.
  2. Schlitterbahn- Take on the world’s tallest waterslide, known as the Verruckt, which happens to be German for “insane”.
  3. Geocaching- This is an anytime, any day hunting game. After registering and finding a cache, players use coordinates to find the things cached by other players.
  4. Kansas City Fringe Festival (July 21-31)- This is a celebration of a range of art, from live theater to dance performances, visual art, spoken word and more.
  5. Royals games- Cheer on our World Series Champs! There are multiple home games this summer so you are bound to find a time for you and your friends to go.
  6. Sporting games- Watch one of the many home games at Sporting Park this summer.
  7. Kansas City Farmer’s Market- The market is open year round on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 7am to 3pm. Explore what the 40 full time tenants have to offer!
  8. Country Club Plaza- Walk the plaza, shop the plaza or eat on the plaza!
  9. Concerts- Go online and find a summer concert and KC that interests you and take your friends!
  10. Downtown Days (June 3-5)- Experience the live entertainment, food, a carnival, craft vendors and more activities.
