West easily won the wrestling matches on January 31 against Truman and Ruskin. Thecompeting schools only managed to score when West didn’t have a wrestler available in the weight class. West won 70-6 against Truman and 81-6 against Ruskin.
“I went out with my mind focused, I was going to win no matter what,” said freshman Marcel Minniefield.
Minniefield won both of his matches. He pinned down the wrestler from Truman, scoring six points for the team, and won by tech fall against the Ruskin wrestler, scoring five points.
The next varsity meet is Disricts on February 8.
