Mizzou Jazz Performs for West Music

Story by Catherine Hutinett
On January 14, the University of Missouri Concert Jazz Band played for the students and staff involved in band and orchestra. Students enjoyed pieces composed and arranged by the students of the jazz band, as well as classic jazz. The director Dr. Arthur White encouraged students to ask questions about continuing their music career and college life. The University of Missouri Concert Jazz Band performs across the country in jazz festivals, and plays with jazz legends such as Bobby Shew and Rufus Reid. West music students were excused from their seventh hour classes to attend the event.
