The Titans took on the Lee’s Summit North Broncos on September 11th for this year’s Strike Out Cancer game. The two teams both honored one player from each team. The Broncos honored the Fiorella’s for skin cancer while the Titans honored the Pietig’s for leukemia.

Mizzou commit Jordan Weber pitched a gem for the Titans giving up no runs through 7 innings. Weber only allowed 1 runner to reach third base all game while making a heads-up play throwing out a runner at second base on a bunt.

The offense started off slow as the Broncos pitcher threw inside for the first couple innings. However, the Titan offense started to warm up scoring one run in the third inning on a Maddie Harris RBI single to left center to score Carson Staponski from first base.

Staponski added onto the lead as she sent a fastball over left center field for her first home run of the year in the fifth inning to score two runs and extend the lead to 3-0 for the Titans. Weber was able to hold the lead as the Titans won the Strike Out Cancer game.
