What to Expect the Week of Homecoming

Natalee Still

Student Senate has planned this year’s homecoming to be as ‘normal’ as possible. This year’s theme is “Conquer the Cats,” and the spirit days for the week are in the image above. The parade will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at West. Then, the assembly will be on Friday, the 8th during the school day; the Homecoming King will be crowned during the assembly. The football team will play the Blue Springs Wildcats for the big game, on Oct. 8, with kick-off at 7. The Queen will be crowned during halftime at the game that night.

The assembly will also include the crowning of the spirit day winners, a partner dance performed by the Westside Girls and the varsity cheerleaders (with their partner of choice), the traditions relay, and more. The school dance will be on Saturday, Oct. 9. It will be located inside, in the field house, so masks are required. The dance will be  from 8-10:30. Tickets will be sold during lunch from Oct. 4-8 for $10 or at the door for $15.

Edit: The above photo is incorrect in regards to Friday’s spirit day. Freshmen and sophomores should wear navy blue, and juniors and seniors should wear white.
