A few weeks ago, West students voted for student body officers. All students voted during their advisory time, which is new this year compared to past years when only the incoming seniors had the opportunity.

Eight students had the opportunity to create and display a campaign on Titan Television with reasons to vote for them. Once the results came out, they got to pick their position based on the number of votes they received.

Class president for the 2014-2015 school year is Nathan May. He said he hopes and plans on being the voice for the school and representing it as best as he can. He also wants to increase the student spirit at West.

The students elected Jaylen Wilson as Vice President, with the second most votes. Christine Betts is the Secretary for the next school year. Christine said, “ I would really like to make sure everyone feels like they have a place here at West.”

Next year’s Treasurer is Allison Tsay. The Community Service Chair for the upcoming school year is Hailey Skinner. She is in charge of the community service the student senate preforms.

Skinner said, “ I think we all will work together really well and have a lot of fun!” Next year’s student body officers said they will all work together to do their part to make the school a better place.
