It was embarrassing to be honest, I mean I was excited for this movie. Sitting in the AMC theatre with one hundred screaming and crying kids, I had some high expectations. Sadly, after thirty minutes of the underwater family, I was disappointed. The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water told a story about a pirate named Burgerbeard that finds a book telling the story about the Bikini Bottom family and the disappearance of the Krabby Patty secret formula.
As usual, Plankton is trying to steal the formula, when all of a sudden, it disappears in mid-air. The residents of Bikini Bottom go crazy, turning the town into a wasteland. Spongebob and Plankton then work together, using “te-amwork” to get the formula back. They create a time machine, and travel to many places looking for the formula. Later, they travel to the surface with the help of dolphin bubbles.
Pirate Burgerbeard turns out to be the culprit that took the recipe, and the team gains superpowers to fight him and get it back. the ending of course ends happily, the Krusty Krab back selling Krabby Patties and Plankton still trying to steal the recipe. The movie was good, but the graphics were much different than the original series and at some parts, the movie got really boring. The humor in the movie was much different than the series, it felt much, like, nicer. Maybe I’m being ridiculous, I mean I’m judging a childrens movie but, I felt the movie could have been a lot better.
