In their first week of the season, the Volleyball team came away with two wins, including a clean sweep.

On Tuesday’s home opener, the Titans faced the Platte County Pirates and won in 2 sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-20.

Turning around on Wednesday, the Titans played Shawnee Mission East at East and had a full program clean sweep, something that coach Jeniffer Morgan said she is looking for the team to repeat multiple other times throughout the season.

One difference from their home game earlier in the week was a change in the amount of sets played in the game. In Kansas, volleyball games are played best three out of five, a rule that Missouri is adapting for next season. “It’s a little bit more test of stamina that we will need to adjust to,” Morgan said.

According to Morgan,“teamwork and being able to trust and rely on your teammates,”  was the takeaway for the week. Something that she also said is important for any volleyball team.

Next week on Tuesday, the Titans will be facing the Ray-Pec Panthers at home, their first conference game. Morgan said, they know our conference teams better they know the kids and they know kind of what they’re going to see.”

On Thursday, the Titans will be playing North at North in a rivalry game.
